Spend two days visiting some of the most spectacular sights of Turkey on our Ephesus and Pamukkale tour from Oludeniz - an absolute must-see for any one visiting Turkey!
Our overnight tour to Ephesus and Pammukale takes you to 2 of Turkey's most impressive and popular destinations, including one of the world's best preserved archaeological sites at Ephesus and the ice-white walls of calcium-rich hot springs at Pamukkale.
Ephesus Tour
Built in the 10th century BC by Greek colonists, the ancient city of Ephesus really began to flourish in 129BC as it came under the control of the Roman Replublic, growing to an estimated 56,000 people which made it the third largest city in the Roman Asia Minor.
Ephesus has a very long and rich history, gaining world-wide fame for the Temple of Artemis which was completed around 550BC becoming one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The temple was so impressive, Antipater of Sido, the man who compiled the list of the Seven Wonders said the following about the temple:
I have set eyes on the wall of lofty Babylon on which is a road for chariots, and the statue of Zeus by the Alpheus, and the hanging gardens, and the colossus of the Sun, and the huge labour of the high pyramids, and the vast tomb of Mausolus; but when I saw the house of Artemis that mounted to the clouds, those other marvels lost their brilliancy, and I said, "Lo, apart from Olympus, the Sun never looked on aught so grand".
On our Ephesus and Pamukkale tour from Oludeniz you'll get the chance to discover the impressive ancient city of Ephesus, walking along its streets and going inside a number of buildings, including the below.
The Church of Saint Mary
Constructed between the 2nd and 4th centuries AD. The building, originally a Roman warehouse was the venue of the Economics Council in 431 AD.
The Ancient Theatre
This is the largest and the most impressive ancient theatres in Turkey, recently restored to provide additional seating for the various summer festivals. If you bother to climb past the 20,000 seats of half-modern masonry to the top, you will see the panoramic view of the surrounding countryside.
The Marble Street
Begins near the base of the theatre and heads almost straight south
The Ancient Brothel
Located in the very centre of the Roman city.
Library of Celsus
Built between 100 and 135AD to store 12,000 scrolls and as a mousoleum for Celsus who lies beneath the building in a crypt, the impressive Library of Celsus was one of Ephesus' most impressive buildings.
Pamukkale Tour
Built up over thousands of years, mineral deposits carried by the natural hot springs of HIERAPOLIS have resulted in one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world.
The therapeutic properties and bizarre appearance of the hot spring were known for thousands of years before an actual town was founded here by one of the PERGAMENE kings during the 2nd Century BC.
After incorporation into the Roman Empire in 129 BC HIERAPOLIS seems to have enjoyed considerable imperial favour, especially after a catastrophic earthquake in 17 & 60 AD. No fewer than three emperors paid personal visits, stimulating local emperor - worship alongside the veneration of APOLLO and his mother LETO, who was venerated in the guise of CYCBLE.
The city was famous for the health-giving properties of its mineral water and hot springs and gained great popularity during the Roman period. The Roman Baths, Domitian Gate, Theatre, Temple of Apollo and Fountain are only some of the ruins to be seen.

Ephesus & Pamukkale Tour from Oludeniz
We booked the Ephesus tour with Oludeniz Excursions and had the best 2 days of our holiday! Pammukkale is absolutely amazing, you see why they call it "cotton castles"!
The water is a little cool but you don't mind because its so warm and the there's quite a walk to get to the top, but relaxing in those turquoise pools is great!
Ephesus is equally fantastic and it's like stepping into the movie Gladiator! - well maybe not quite but you really get the feel of what the ancient Roman empire was like at the height of it's power as it's very well preserved for such as old City. The history is fascinating even if like me it's not really your thing. - A great balance of history and getting on with your day!
This is my favourite tour with Oludeniz Excursions and would thoroughly recommend again.

This is a fantastic trip and a great way to see a Roman city in good condition. I see why they call it an open air museum as you really felt like you had gone back in time walking down the main street and its easy to imagine what it would have once looked like in Roman times.
Pamukkale is awesome, warm pools of gorgeous turquoise water and completely bizarre location.
Great price, great service, great website, great day - book it!

I\'ve got a few questions. I hope that is ok?
How long does the journey take to Ephesus? Is it by bus? Is any food included on this excursion?

With regard to your questions about the Ephesus/Pamukkale trip I can advise that after an early start you will travel for about 2 hours before stopping en route for breakfast (included in the price). After breakfast you continue on to Ephesus where you will spend about 2.5 hours discovering the history of this famous Roman settlement. Lunch is taken at the Sultan Restaurant (extra charge) following which you will rejoin your bus for the journey to Pamukkale, approx 2 1/2 hrs.
Your overnight stop includes dinner with entertainment and you will have plenty of time for a swim in the hotel pool if you so wish.
Following breakfast the next day you will depart for Pamukkale, again having several hours to explore and maybe take a dip in the thermal \'Cleopatra’s pool\' (charged separately). Following lunch at Pamukkale (extra charge) you will begin your journey back to Fethiye, arriving at your hotel approx 6.30-7.00pm.
